COMMUNITY MAGIC @ VILLA MAIREA

I got a chance to visit Villa Mairea last August. Whenever I have a bad day, this image takes me back to the magical mood of the house. I can only imagine how stimulating it must have been, artists and thinkers from around the world debating in the library room or chilling out by the garden pool. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a home quite like Maire and Harry Gullichsen’s. It still acts as a magnet, even though it doesn’t have permanent residents.

    It’s great to read about the magic you felt upon visiting Villa Mairea! I’m in Norway this summer and am hoping to visit Finland to see the villa. How to you arrange a tour? I’m having trouble finding information on how to get one set up. Thanks!

    I love going there. I’ve spent almost every christmas or/and newyear when I was younger at Mairea, it’s a great place for all ages. My greatgrandmother is actually Maire Gullichsen (:

    I loved this kind of work, the elemets, & materials used give the relation around the espace.
    I would like go there! If you can, show other fotos, ‘cuz I didn’t see any like this
