Artek (Art & Technology) was founded on october 15, 1935 by four Finnish cultural radicals. Alvar Aalto and Aino Aalto, Nils-Gustav Hahl and Maire Gullichsen wanted Artek to represent the future in design and culture. Humane design, passion and avant-gardist dreams still live in Artek.
